Premium Quality 55 TBN Medium Speed Marine Diesel Engine Oil

Quantum Hornet 17000 oil is a premium quality 55 TBN SAE 40 cylinder and crankcase oils designed for use in highly rated medium-speed trunk piston diesel engines (marine or stationary service) burning high sulphur residual fuels (>2.5%wt sulphur) especially the most severe low lube consumption engines.

Specially produced using the finest quality base oils and advanced additive system that provide excellent TBN retention, excellent high temperature oxidation and thermal stability, low volatility, outstanding load carrying properties and corrosion protection and outstanding residual fuel compatibility characteristics for excellent engine cleanliness, especially in crankcase and camshaft areas.

Applications

Recommended for use in the latest medium-speed trunk piston engines designed with "anti-polishing ring" burning high sulphur residual fuels. This ring significantly reduced the lubricating oil consumption (less top-up rate) which resulting in reduced oil life and drain interval due to severe TBN depletion on engines lubricated with conventional lube oils. Hornet 550 is developed primarily for this type of engines (low lube oil consumption).
